Hotel - Residence and SPA, Menton, France
chronology:   2009 definitive project

The hotel planned in Menton is a prestigious project considering not only the quality of the natural environment in which it is located, but also the neighbourhood architecture. The project is to build a luxury hotel **** of about 125 rooms with direct access to the garden and a spa with thalassotherapy. The site is great, facing the Mediterranean Sea, and it is dominated by a park of ancient olive trees. The surface is about 11.000 sqm. A contemporary architecture, defined by the space deformation and the search of new and eco-sustainable elements, which makes large use of materials such as wood and steel and renewable, transpiring and pleasant to touch like filter of UVA fabrics. The ground is not sealed in order to allow the rain water collection; the use of greenery and water create a comforting microclimate. A new way to live in a hotel, where the space has been thought open to the exterior. The conference social activities make use of outdoor spaces, even if a conference room for 300 people and some meeting rooms are present inside. From everywhere you can enjoy a beautiful view of the sea, particularly perceptible from the restaurant terrace, and of the old city. The new complex is joint to the sea, from harbour, and to the mountains, from the park, and it creates a green visual continuity from the park olive trees to the promenade palms.
