Varazze (Piani D'Ivrea) Italy, Private Villa
chronology:   2009 definitive project,  2010 construction documents,  2012 realized

The square-shaped villa with its rigid lines seems to leaning on the gulf. Facing the splendid Ligurian Sea, and completely coated with stones, well disguised in the harsh Ligurian landscape to be hardly discernible by distracted eyes, it reveals a stunning surprise for those who can discover it. The villa is extended horizontally on two levels. The first floor is the largest: at the same level of the garden and the swimming pool, it consists in the daily area , the guests rooms and the service area. The second floor is reserved to the master rooms, and can be reached from inside by a small elevator. Inside, the one colour whiten oak wood floor and the lime natural sand colour walls, create uniformity between the rooms giving a pleasant feeling of comfort and controlled elegance. The large horizontal windows discover a pleasant view over the garden and the pool and increase the light diffusion inside. The bathroom walls are treated with resin even inside the shower, the colours match the furniture and the accessories of the rooms.
Lights: Erco, Vibia. Furniture: Living, Ivano Redaelli, Porro.

The exterior covering made of local stone varying shades of gray, blends with the colours of nature. The dark pool bottom treated with a special resin, gives the water a shade similar to the deep Ligurian Sea, and creates a large mirror which is overlooked by the tall pines. The solarium area is in concrete, outdoor furniture by Roda.
